The Navamansha Chart - D9...1

The Navamansha chart or the D9 chart is the most important chart after the basic birth chart D1. For getting an accurate navamansha chart we need to have exact date and time of birth along with the place of birth. A navamansha chart changes after every 15 minutes, hence the above requirement. Navamansha means the the 9th part (navam - 9th; ansha - part). It is formed when we open up the 9th house of a basic birth chart. Now what is the importance of 9th chart? You can read it here:

Hence the D9 chart also indicates everything that is indicated by the 9th house. So we can summarise that the D9 chart indicates the following:

1. Your luck in general

2. Your spiritual inclination

3. Your spouse (7th house of D9 is seen for spouse's general nature and propensities)

4. Latter part of your life (after 35)

5. Your life after marriage (also timing of marriage)

6. The real strength of the planets in your chart
7. Neecha Bhanga (cancellation of debilitation of a planet)
8. Will a native be able to learn all lessons related to current life that his/her soul has set for him /her.

Most of the time all other divisional charts are in agreement with D1 and D9 charts. For example, if you wish to determine one's career, it can be seen through one's D1 chart's 10th house. Now this will be in agreement with D9's 10th house and D10's 10th house. Similarly we need to see the D3 chart for happiness in one's life, again D1 and D9 will be in agreement. Hence, you can understand the significance of D9 chart.

Combinations of Wealth (Dhan yoga)...6

In an earlier post I had indicated that - Dhan yoga will get activated when the mahadasha and antardasa of planets involved starts. Even during the pratyantar dasha of the planets trigger such wealth gains. 

Well, in that sense, we must also consider the bhav chalit chart also. A bhav chalit chart is used mainly when we have to look for the result of a mahadasa, antardasa or pratyantar dasa. Most of the time, the planets stay in the same house or move backwards (one house back) in the bhav chalit chart. When you have a look at your chart, note that it is the house with respect to the what the planet moving will give results and not with respect to sign it moves to. 

This can be understood as following:

Consider that you have Mercury in Virgo in 3rd house and Mercury dasa is about to start for a native. In his/her bhav chalit chart, Mercury moves to 2nd house, hence the the native will gain money via his/her younger siblings and the gain will be really good since the Mercury is in own house. The result will be gain of money (2nd house) and not of authority (signified by Leo). 

Hence, since we have 5 houses 1, 2, 5, 9, 11 to consider we can have following considerations:

1. As described above, if in the bhav chalit chart the 5th house lord of D1, moves to fourth house, the native will gain money through his mother and speculative ventures, sports etc.
2. Also, if the lord of 2nd house moves to 1st house, the native will gain money through self improvement and efforts.
3. If the lord of 9th of D1 moves to 8th in Bhav chalit, the native will gain wealth through lotteries, spiritual activities and in-laws during the period of 9th lord.
4. Similarly when the lord of 12th moves to 11th in bhav chalit, the native will gain through foreigners, foreign travels, spiritual upliftment of the soul etc.

More examples:

6. When the combination forms in 8th house, the gains happens through sudden acquiring of wealth through in-laws or secret activities.

7. When the combination forms in 4th house, the money is gained through mother, real estate and vehicles.

8. When the combination occurs in 7th house, the money is acquired through one's spouse, partnership business etc.

9. When the combination happens in 12th house, the native will acquire wealth through foreign lands, long distance travels, foreigners or spiritual activities.

10. When the combination is in 6th house, you will gain money through your maternal uncles, enemies or providing service to the society.

All the above combinations that I have described in past 5 posts must be looked in D1 chart, D9 chart and also the D3 chart.

In the previous post I said - It will get activated when the mahadasha and antardasa of planets involved starts. Even during the pratyantar dasha of the planets trigger such wealth gains. 

The next big question is how?

Well, this relates to the house or place where the dhan yoga is formed.

Examples:

1. When dhan yoga is formed in 2nd house (then is it gain of money from family).

2. When it is formed in 5th house then money is gained through speculative business, children, sports etc.

3. When it is formed in the 9th house then money is gained through spiritual activities.

4. When it is formed in 11th house, the person gains through his friends, or career or senior siblings.

5. When the combination is formed in 3rd house the money is achieved through younger siblings and travels.

Combinations of Wealth (Dhan yoga)...3

Following also bring in the money in native's life but in a minor way:

1. Aspect of planets involving (1, 2, 5, 9, 11). 

This will happens when the lord of (1, 2, 5, 9, 11) aspect one of the lords of (1, 2, 5, 9, 11) but the other lord cannot see that lord back.

2. Aspect of one or more of the lords of (1, 2, 5, 9, 11) aspect a house together. 

This can happen when, e.g., Mars as lord of Aries ascendant aspects the 8th house and Venus from 2nd house also aspects the 8th house, a minor dhan yoga is formed.

Now the question is when does the dhan yoga gets activated?

It will get activated when the mahadasha and antardasa of planets involved starts. Even during the pratyantar dasha of the planets trigger such wealth gains. 

Combinations of Wealth (Dhan yoga)...2

So, as you can very well imagine the dhan yoga (or the combinations of wealth) are formed when one or more of the masters of house 1, house 2, house 5, house 9 and house 11 are involved.

When the masters of the above house form a combination by any one of the following the dhan yoga is created:

1. Sitting in one of the houses (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11)

This will happen when the master or the lord of (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11) is sitting in (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11).

2. Mutual exchange of signs between 2 signs out of (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11)

This will happen when masters of (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11) will exchange signs together. Example:

9th house in 2nd and 2nd lord in 9th;

11th house in 5th and 5th lord in 11th;

1st lord in 9th and 9th lord in 5th

OR

2nd lord in 9th, 9th lord in 11th, 11th lord in ascendant.

So, there can be several combinations, as you can see here, depending on permutations that you get out of (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11).

3. Conjunction with each other

Lords of (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11) sit together in any house. It is always better that they are together in (1, 2, 5, 9 or 11). It is also very good if the conjunction is formed in center or trine (1, 4, 5, 7, 9 or 10).

Dhan means money or wealth and it is most important thing in life if you want to live a good life, which all of us desire. But all people don't have it. You can easily check your chart for the presence of combinations of wealth in your chart. The houses which you must consider for these combinations must be understood first:

1. House 1 or the ascendant - As I have indicated in earlier posts, ascendant is most important house of your chart and the strength of ascendant lord determines a lot of stuff going on in your chart.

Accidents...4

Following combinations also define accidents in some form:

1. If in the Leo ascendant Moon is present along with the Sun(master of Leo) and Rahu sits in 12th, it can define sudden severe accident, which can be life threatening.

2. Mars, Saturn and Ketu form a conjunction in 7th house of spouse in D1 or D9 chart then the native's spouse can commit suicide or have a fatal accident.

3. The conjunction of Saturn and Mars in 8th house in Gemini, Libra or Aquarius can cause accident by fire.

4. The Lord of 7th is present with Mars and Saturn (or under aspect of both if them), then an accident is inevitable.

Most of the time these accidents or mishaps can occur when the Mahadasa/Antardasa or Pratyantar of the the lords of 2nd, 6th, 7th or 8th house lords is going on.

All the above combinations that have been described above must be considered after noting the aspect/conjunction of benefics/yogkarakas/friends with the ascendant lord and/or the combination described.

Accidents...3

Following factors can also indicate an accident in a chart:

1. If Ketu is debilitated it can give heart related ailment. Ketu is debilitated in Gemini (some texts say it is Taurus).
2. If Jupiter is with Mars in Taurus, Gemini, Virgo or Libra, it can cause a heart related operation.
3. Saturn, Mars and Ketu when conjunct in 8th house can give an accident on the road while traveling.
4. Moon and Rahu in Gemini, Libra or Aquarius under the aspect of Mars can cause problem when the native is in air.
5. The master of 8th, Rahu in 12th house under aspect of Mars may cause accident in air.

All the above combinations that have been described above must be considered after noting the aspect/conjunction of benefics/yogkarakas/friends with the ascendant lord and/or the combination described.

Accidents...2

Most of the time the planets responsible for a typical accident can be:

1. Venus for accidents related to journeys.

2. Accidents from machines or iron objects are caused by Saturn.

3. Fire and explosives cause accidents when Mars triggers them

4. Accidents related to animals are caused by Saturn.

5. Sudden accidents are caused by Rahu.

Following also indicate accidents:

1. Saturn sitting in 6th house in Aries/Cancer/Leo/Scorpio (all ruled by enemies of Saturn - Mars, Moon and Sun) along with Ketu will give accident by an animal.

2. Mars is in 6th house and is being aspected by Saturn (Saturn must be in 4th, 9th or 12th) then you can be hurt by machinery or some iron object.

3. Mars with Saturn in 8th house can cause accidents from fire. This can happen especially on a Tuesday or a Saturday.

4. Fire can cause you hurt if in your chart if Mars is in 8th house of Gemini, Virgo, Capricorn or Aquarius (rules by enemies Mercury and Saturn) along with Sun.

5. If Moon is debilitated (in Scorpio) and Mars also sits there, person will fear water objects. The person with debilitated moon must be careful of water bodies.

Accidents...1

Vedic Astrology can be used as a tool for knowing the forthcoming events of life. Most of us wait for good events in our life - School, Graduation, Marriage, Kids etc. But life is not always about happiness. Due to past deeds (Karma from the previous lives) diseases and accidents can happen. Again, I must reiterate that all the events of life must be judged based on a holistic view of all planets in a chart and the mahadasa, antardasa of planets involved. I have already mentioned some indications of good health, bad health and recovering from bad health in my previous posts. So, from today I will write on how to look for accidents in a chart.

Knowing about accidents is important because if we are aware of an upcoming event we can be prepared for that. Just imagine that you are not aware of today's weather. You go out and see that bright sun is out, taking toll of your skin. If you were aware of that fact earlier on, you can take an umbrella with you and save yourself from the severity of weather. Hence the pre-knowledge is important. It must not be used for causing the fear, but for getting in all precautions in time. 

For judging accidents in a chart, the most important houses are house 6 and house 8. Their significations are stated in the following posts:

Whenever the master of 6th house and 8th house are under some relation with a malefic (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, Waning Moon), the accidents are inevitable to some extent.

Special Aspects of Outer Planets...7

In case of special aspects sometimes the planet might be present in the house of the planet whom it is influencing. Following is a valid example:

In this case Mercury is under Jupiter's 5th aspect and Mars' 8th aspect. Both of them are located in Mercury owned houses. Hence such a person will be technically very sound with and very pleasing personality and would have taken higher studies for sure in his/her life. This person must be very tactical at his/her work place too!

Another example: if Jupiter aspects Moon present in Scorpio when Jupiter is in Cancer (owned by Moon),  both the planets will aspect each other equally.

Well now you will feel why I am writing this post when the special aspects have all been covered. There are some points that we need to remember when we are interpreting any chart with respect to special aspects. 

Most of the time when two planets are present in 7th to each other or they are together they will influence each other mutually. It will be good if they are good friends! But what is the case when there is planet with special aspect involved? Oh yes, as you can guess, they will definitely influence and be influenced by planets present in house 7 and house 1, but what about house 5 and 9 in case of Jupiter? House 4 and 8 in case of Mars and house 3 and 10 in case of Saturn? Following holds good in those cases:

1. The planet which is under aspect cannot see them (as in case of 1 and 7), and hence cannot influence back, obviously if someone is pushing you and you cannot see that person, you will get pushed but you might not be able to push back, right? Example: 

In this case Mercury is being influenced by all 3 planets, Jupiter - 9th aspect, Mars - 8th aspect and Saturn - 3rd aspect. But Mercury will not be able to influence them back. In such a case, the aspect and influence is very strong on the planet under aspect. Hence they will not only influence with respect to House 1 and House 3 but also for Houses 4 and 7 (ruled by Jupiter here), houses 3 and 8 (ruled by Mars) and houses 5 and 6 (Saturn).

And what happens when Saturn is good? That's will be my example with Saturn exalted in Libra which is the current location of Saturn till Nov 1, 2014. It is will be golden days since Jupiter will be exalted in Cancer from Jun 19, 2014 and at the same time Saturn will also be exalted. Rare event in fact! So kids during that time will be blessed by the Jupiter as well as Saturn. This will specially be beneficial if the ascendant of the children can be Cancer, Libra, Capricorn or Aries! 

If Saturn is good (specially when it forms the Shasha Yoga),  it is located in Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Taurus (in center - 1,4,7,10) then the person can be elevated to the levels of a Vice President or may be some decision taking Director at least to say! When Saturn is good, it gives the person the wisdom to rule over others and govern and guide them. After all, it is the son of ruler of the astrological chart - The Sun!  You will go to West (as compared to your birthplace) and flourish there. So Saturn influences 4 houses as shown below:

As you can see Saturn influences the 1st, 3rd, 7th and 10th houses. Hence it will present its delays with respect to younger siblings and short journeys (house 3), marriage (house 7) and job (house 10). Delays only, denial only in rare cases! The 3 houses are center houses (which are most important for a native) so Saturn if placed in center, does more harm/good to the native than any other planet even gets chance to!

Special Aspects of Outer Planets...4

Saturn, predominantly the most dreaded planet in the astrological world, also has special aspects. As I have already mentioned, Saturn delays things, but rarely denies. And your have to be very very righteous in your life if you have to please Saturn. You can offer whatever you have - lots of oil, til (sesame seeds), black cloth, iron stuff and all, as much quantity as you want, but the best way to ward away evils of Saturn is to change yourself. That comes from within, as you can guess. 

Saturn is the master of Justice and delays. If you see things getting delayed in your life, most of the time Saturn is responsible. It wants you to learn lessons of life, the hard way. Justice is another aspect of Saturn, it has orders from Lord Shiv to carry out the justice! And you know very well, it does that successfully, in fact it has the authority for that! So, as I said offer anything but change yourself if you wanna please Saturn. 

Be righteous, don't indulge in any politics at workplace to get ahead of others, never indulge in infidelity, take care of your ageing parents in whatever best way you can, be respectful towards subordinates, elders and Gurus, and avoid castigating others specially if Saturn influences your first/second house; and help the needy in best manner! Saturn will definitely shower its blessings over you!

Special Aspects of Outer Planets...3

Coming to Devaguru Jupiter, well, I have always laid importance of its presence in center. So, I will explain the special aspect of Jupiter with its presence in 1st house in Cancer where it is exalted. Some kids with this configuration will be born when Jupiter will be exalted from Jun 19, 2014 for one whole year. That will be a real good time for people born under Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces, Scorpio signs. The special aspect for Jupiter is explained in the below diagram.

So Jupiter showers its blessings over houses 1 (where it is located), house 5 (the house of children), house 7 (house of your spouse) and house 9 (house of luck). During the major/minor period of Jupiter and when Jupiter transits these houses, you can see special events such as birth of a child (house 5), marriage (house 7) or may be higher education (house 9). Well, actually if Jupiter is present in houses 1,4,5,7, 9,10 it does influence the native to go for higher studies and such a Jupiter takes care of several negative things which actually do not happen! Such is the blessing of the Devaguru. Also, When you will run through Jupiter major/minor period you might actually find a true adviser/Guru in your life, may be someone who will change the direction of the course of your life!

Coming back to special aspects. Well following holds true for Mars:

Mars aspects the fourth and the eighth house from its location besides the first and seventh. In that case, Mars will influence planets located in 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th houses and also the activities of that house, specially during its major/minor period and during transits through those houses. The below diagram can help you understand this concept better:

As you can see, Mars is present in house 1, numbered 8 because the ascendant is Scorpio. Hence it will influence all houses and planets in Scorpio (8), Aquarius (11), Taurus (7) and Gemini (3). We must also know that depending upon the sign the planet aspects, it aspects will be inimical or friendly. In the above example, Mars will actually negatively influence the first house positively (since it is the master of Scorpio), while it will mostly negative influence the other houses (4,7,8) since it is enemy to Saturn (Lord of 4th), Venus (Lord of 7th) and Mercury (Lord of 8th), unless otherwise influenced by any other planet. So, if you have above configuration in your chart (Mars located in first house in Scorpio), then during Mars major/minor period you can see positive influence with respect to your personality (indicated by first house) but negatively with respect to your Mother and Spouse (indicated by 4th and 7th house) and may be interest in occult (indicated by 8th house). One thing to keep in mind is that, even though Mars is influencing these houses and planets situated herein, the final result still lies with master of that house. So, in all above example, Saturn, Venus and Mercury are the final judge in giving you what you deserve. Actually, Mars might not be able to give its negative result if these planets are well placed!

Special Aspects of Outer Planets...1

I thought I will put forth some theory that I had read earlier. The outer planets namely Mars, Jupiter and Saturn lay special aspects. But before moving further I would like to state what does aspect mean? I have mentioned this term before too. Aspect means affect in the current context. Whenever a planet aspects another planet, it actually has the right to influence that planet. All the planets affect and influence the planets in the first house (where the planet is situated) and the seventh house. You have to count anti-clockwise (in the North Indian style of horoscopes) from the first house where the planet is situated and then count till 7.  For example in the below pic, Sun is located in house 1 (Aries ascendant, hence exalted), so it will influence(aspect) any planets present in Aries or Libra (7th house). It will also influence activities connected with that house (houses 1 and 7, I have written about them earlier). 

During the Sun major/minor period, the native will witness the influence of Sun on the activities of these houses too. Also, when Sun will transit through these houses, the native will witness the activities with respect to these houses.

Recovering from bad health...2

Greater period/sub period of a favorable planet - If you have been going through bad health for quite some time, just look for the coming periods. If the coming periods are that of your ascendant lord (which is located well and is strong), or of the yogkaraka planets or of a friendly planet, then general recovery is indicated for the native from the long time disease. Refer to the following table:

Besides the above, if there is a favorable transit (for the ascendant/ascendant Lord) is going on. The above table is valid for transits also. 

Recovering from bad health...1

It does not matter how you have your benefic planets are placed, because sometime or the other malefic planets come in action and cause havoc in life. They bring in bad health, diseases and hence bring life to a stand still. presence of good health indicators can definitely improve conditions. Note the following:

1. Strong lord of the ascendant - This is a very strong indication of how much and how quickly a person can recuperate from his/her bad health.

2. Strength of the Lord of 6th house - sixth house is house of diseases. For more details read the blog post from March 20, 2013. If 6th lord is healthy/strong the person will enjoy awesome recovering power.

3. Jupiter's aspect to the ascendant lord or the ascendant also brings in good recovering power.

4. Presence of a friend/benefic along with ascendant Lord or aspecting the ascendant Lord also indicates quick recovery.
